The Sekee VORTEX vortex flowmeter is a device for measuring the volumetric or mass flow rate of liquids, gases, or steam, based on the Karman effect. It consists of a housing with a streamlined element, often called a vortex generator, which, when exposed to the flow of the medium, generates successively separated vortices. The frequency of vortex shedding is proportional to the flow velocity, allowing the flow rate to be determined from the measured frequency. To record the vortex shedding frequency, sensors are used that convert the vortex oscillations into an electrical signal.
